Cow's Milk for human consumption in a large scale was introduced in the late 18th century and was met with skepticism and more notably, the spread of typhoid and tuberculosis. Since then, cow’s milk/dairy has evolved into a common staple in the modern day diet.

Although we no longer have to fear typhoid and tuberculosis, even in the modern day, the reality of milk doesn’t seem to be as dreamy as it is in the “Got Milk”commercials. It is said that dairy can cause a host of negative effects on the body because of its presence of high levels of cholesterol, antibiotics, pus, and hormones. These all make milk an alleged culprit of things like acne, hormonal imbalances, lactose intolerance/digestive issues, and even cancer. Aside from the possible health risks, how can we forget our vegan brothers and sisters reminding us that cow’s milk doesn't come from the sky , but instead a cow who has often times been artificially inseminated and milked over and over again. Despite all of this, most people still enjoy dairy very often, because hello, cheese ?

This is why Perfect Day, a startup founded by two vegans with backgrounds in bio-medicine, have invested millions and are working to produce a new form of "dairy" without the downsides.

By taking the essential genes of cow’s milk , micro-flora, and fermentation; They have created MILK without the cows, GMO’s, and lactose. Since it’s conception in 2014, Perfect Day recently released its first round of ice cream to volunteer participants.
The few reviews of the ice cream that have been circulating claim that the lab grown ice cream can easily be mistaken for the dairy ice cream they love. The company plans to launch a host of dairy products including cheese in the near future.
Make sure to check out the website so you can be next to try it’s newest dairy-free dairy products.
