Jordyn Woods, formerly known as “Kylie’s best friend,” if you haven’t noticed has been quite the hype on social media. For those of you that don’t know because you live under a very dark rock , Woods was alleged to have had some sort of situationship with Khloe Kardashian’s(Wood’s best friends favorite sister) baby daddy Tristan "aint-shit" Thompson.

Normally, this would not result in praise from the masses. However, Woods was in luck because she dusted off her deck of cards and played the most powerful one; the race card. And if that didn’t do it, she could count on the fact that the Kardashians are everyone's most hated, favorite people. Yes it makes no sense. Also, if you are wondering what sneaking around with your bf’s sister’s dog of a man/babydaddy has to do with being black ,wonder no more. It has absolutely nothing to do with being black.

Let’s be honest , in real life, had Woods been our best friend, what she did wouldn’t have been ok let alone praised and rewarded. This shows us yet again just how toxic our obsession is with trending names. Consistently making people famous/more famous for unacceptable behavior just because it’s news. We have become a generation of sheep, watchers , and followers.Everyone knows it , which is why brands cash in on the trending hype faster than Jordyn got on The Red Table. No longer does anyone care about what is being represented, just about being in the loop. Are there repercussions to this?
I think Yes because :
Trending topics/names become actual trends, which becomes culture.
Don’t believe me?
Bhad Bhabie and the Cucumber challenge, enough said.
Jordyn Woods is young and shouldn’t be put down for making a mistake, but she also doesn’t need to be on the cover of Cosmopolitan. Sorry Not Sorry.
In closing, final Shout out to Jordyn Woods (or maybe Kris in the cut) for actually being able to successfully use her black card and make bank off of consumers obsession with scandals, trending news, and toxic irrelevancy.
